A great lesson every lesson!

Designed and delivered by outstanding Maths leaders, whose favourite place is in the classroom, this programme increases participants’ confidence and skills to ensure all their students have a brilliant experience in their lessons. It allows participants to prepare to have a great lesson every lesson! The programme is appropriate for secondary ECTs, experienced teachers and non-specialists who wish to deliver maths lessons to a high standard.

There are six face to face modules exploring how to:

• Plan creative, fun and engaging lessons;

• Discover ways to motivate and inspire students in maths;

• Think deeply about cognitive science in mathematics teaching and learning;

• Design well thought through resources;

• Challenge students’ misconceptions;

Deliver a great lesson every lesson!

The programme will develop participants’ personal strengths and enable them to learn new skills and strategies in the maths classroom. They will work collaboratively with other teachers in a non-judgemental, supportive and fun environment.

Sessions:

All sessions will take place from 9.00am - 4.00pm on the following dates and locations:

• Session 1 - Tuesday 17th October 2023 at the Outwood Institute of Education

• Session 2 - Tuesday 12th December 2023 at Outwood Institute of Education

• Session 3 - Tuesday 6th February 2024 at Outwood Grange Academy

• Session 4 - Thursday 21st March 2024 at Outwood Academy Valley

• Session 5 - Thursday 20th June 2024 at the Outwood Institute of Education
